[Artist Talk II] Oct.16(Sun) 1pm ~ 2pm

Artist RohwaJeong from space bm

Artists say that domestic galleries are monotonous and overly commercial; collectors complain that domestic galleries have little personality and also lack commercial value; gallerists criticize the domestic market for its lack of collectors and that the few clients they do have are either interested in artwork that can make money or follow the latest fads.
How do the three trivets that support the art market—artist, collector, and gallery—define “commercial?” An talented artist whose work does not sell well, a collector that passionately keeps a characterful collection despite a tight budget, and a gallerist that struggles to keep the balance between commercial and non-commercial propensities come together to unravel the delicate topic of “money.”
