Past Exhibition

Kyoung-Mi Lee

2017. 9. 14 ~ 10. 20
From September 21 to October 21, Gallery PLANET presented a solo exhibition by Kyoung-Mi Lee who strives to present realistic depictions based on her vivid reflections on the world. The artwork in the exhibition provided the audience with a diverse range of sensory experiences.
Kyoung-Mi Lee’s artwork contains a variety of stories which encompass her personal life, human history, childhood memories, and visions of civilization. Her realistic yet delicate style of painting is the result of a long and patient process of attempting to reflect this complexity.
Renowned for her love of felines, the artist Kyoung-Mi Lee has produced a variety of media featuring cats in uninterrupted narratives. The exhibition presented a new series titled Moon series including ten paintings and other multiform installation works. These new artworks convey Lee’s yearning for greater insight into the mysteries of the cosmos. Informed by scientific and rhetorical analysis, this exhibition allowed the viewer to observe innovations in painting and media that reflect the era’s contemporary epoch’s modalities, of which the artist intuits and incorporates in her works naturally.
