The Wind Blows On

2017. 9. 1 ~ 9. 30
Works that are not too ostentatious, yet silently express inner depth, possess a weight that comforts and consoles us. Such is the case with the works of Chan-Oo Park, Sang-Yong E, YoungWook Choi, Jun-Kun Choi, and Dong-Hee Hong. The depth of time captured in stone and water;traces of contemplation and meditation imprinted on ink stones; the experience of walking by a disorderly row of Jeju basalt rocks; the constrained splendor of wooden furniture made from natural materials. All of these are examples of objects that leave us humbled. This is also the quiet strength of Korea, a beauty capable of eliciting empathy and approval from people around the world. This beauty can help promote Korea throughout the world.
Chan-Oo Park’s photographic work Stone, Sang-Yong E’s ink stone works, Young-Wook Choi’s moon jar paintings entitled Karma, Jun-Kun Choi’s paintings of Jeju’s basalt rocks, Dong-Hee Hong’s various works of furniture in wood, stone, and steel – all of them express inner depth.
Visitors can experience the silent weight of the artwork and how comforting they can be.
