Artist’s Note
I am drawn to ideas of literal and metaphorical images. I work from the languages of hipsters, contemporary icons, idol fandom and the web-community, and invent imaginative situations to put these continually moving languages on hold. It is within this process that a lexical meaning and my personal encounters with it meet, and with it I translate these languages from a teetering structure between the literal and the metaphorical into my own personal painterly language.
