About Artist

Kang Jun-Young shows new possibility of ceramics by using various mediums such as painting, drawing, and ceramics to break down the boundary of materials. He tells that the theme, ‘Romantic Love’, is the basis for his work. Short phrases coupled with houses, flowers, and images frequently appearing in his works are trajectory of his lifetime and personal feelings developed from thought and experience. He tries to find the root of numerous feelings in the space of ‘home’. ‘Home’ is the space where human’s sentiments like love, happiness, sorrow, anger are mingled at the same time and the physical space where is the most primitive base in human life.
Through ‘home’, the artist tries to research and explore all the phenomenon of human occurs in the space by recording through various media like drawing, interview, video etc. The research is still going on and it is not only for Korean but also for foreigners. By this process, he would like to share and contemplate about the idea of ‘home’ from each country. He concentrates on expressing reinterpretation of the records. The artist would like to reinterpret an expanded domain of love in the aspect of space not simply limited into personal feelings. Through his works, the artist would like to provide an opportunity to contemplate about true love to audiences. He will also keep saying and thinking about the hidden side of love.
